Terraco Render Systems Explained

Terraco Render System Properties

Terracoat Flex Granule external render is formulated on advanced technology elastomers, these exhibit  a self cross linking mechanism on the surface of the render coating, this prevents film tack and dirt pick up during hot weather, this is a defect generic to most other traditional type of flexible renders.

The advantage these render coatings exhibit are.
Long life durability, excellent resistance to long term exposure to ultra violet light. Long life of flexibility over a wide range of temperatures. The flexibility of Terracoat Flex Granule render does not change substantially with time and performs excellently over a temperature range from -20oC
to +50oC.

Terracoat render system anti-carbonation coating.
Terracoat Flex Granule render blocks the passage of CO2 gas into the concrete thus preventing concrete carbonation and ultimately concrete spaling.

Terracoat render dirt pick-up resistance
The advanced technology of the base elastomers in Terracoat Flex Granule render enact a
surface cross linking mechanism on exposure to any UV light which minimises dirt
pick up and surface tack.

Terraco render crack bridging
Terracoat Flex Granule render has excellent elongation and high tensile strength this allows it to perform effectively as a crack-bridging coating i.e. the render coating can bridge cracks of up to 1mm.  Terracoat Flex Granule render is a trowel applied texture giving a granular finish available in 2 grain sizes.

Terracoat render areas of use
As a decorative and Protective coating of exterior masonry and concrete.
As a high build remedial coating where cracks may already exist.
As a crack preventative coating in areas where cracks may be expected to occur.
As a renovation coating for EIFS systems.

Surface preparation
New surfaces: Ensure that all dust, dirt and foreign matter are scraped and brushed away. Also
ensure the surfaces are free from salts, oil, grease and ridges. Protect all adjacent surfaces not to
be covered. All cracks, chips, voids and damages should be repaired with Terraco Handycoat Exterior. Old surfaces: Before applying to old surfaces, ensure the substrate is firm. First wash down the surface with a sugar soap solution, rinse and allow to dry before repairing or applying the

Terraco rendering primer
Prime surfaces with a coat of Penetrating Primer prior to application of Terracoat Flex Granule

Terraco render packaging and storage
Terracoat Flex Granule is supplied in 25kg drums. Store containers in a clean dry area protected
from direct sunlight and extreme heat and cold. Unopened containers can be stored for 12
